West Port Community Development District
The West Port Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on October 23, 2019 by the Charlotte County Florida, Board of County Commissioners, Ordinance No. 2019-023 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The West Port CDD encompasses an area of approximately 434.677 acres within unincorporated Charlotte County, Florida. The land within the District is generally located between El Jobean (State Road 776) and US 41 east of Biscayne Drive.
The West Port CDD is also authorized to exercise powers to finance, fund, plan, establish, acquire, construct, reconstruct, enlarge or extend, equip, operate, and maintain systems and facilities for parks and facilities for indoor and outdoor recreational, cultural, and educational uses, and for security, all as authorized and described by Sections 190.012(2)(a) and 2(d), Florida Statutes (2018).
